Thank you to Jesse Tigges and the Columbus Alive for the very positive press coverage of Bound.
I love this city and I am so, so grateful for the love it shows to emerging artists.

The gallery is open! I am so pleased with how everything turned out. It was tough reminding myself not to overcrowd- it's natural to want to fit as much work as possible into a space. Easier to omit works than rush at the last minute to make something to fill a space. The installation, Disease (4,320 steps), takes up a whole wall. I had to hold myself back from trying to squeeze in more works. Let it be!
For those who deny white privilege exists:
The Masterwork Show at Tacocat opened this past Friday. Five works were chosen from over 25 entries to be in the show. I am very grateful that not only was my piece included, but it also won the "Masterwork Award" (essentially juror's choice). I am very grateful to Tom Katzenmeyer of the GCAC and Mary Grey of Riffe Gallery for selecting my piece and to Tacocat Cooperative for organizing the show!
The opening had significantly less of a crowd than I expected. There were only five pieces. The well-maintained gallery was sparce and my initial reaction was that the jurors could have comfortably chosen two more pieces to harmoniously fill the space. I was also surprised to find that Mr. Katzenmeyer had never juried an art show before. Either way, I am very grateful for the opportunity.
I'm going to miss Columbus.
