Quiet is a short looping video that performs conceptual poetry techniques of appropriation and erasure on a poem found in the Library of Congress, pulled from The Dairy Cow: A Monograph on the Ayrshire Breed of Cattle by E. Lewis Sturtevant, M.D., and Joseph N. Sturtevant (1875). By omitting and rearranging elements of the poem the subject is neither explicitly, human or nonhuman. The work aims to reflect the often quiet and humble labor involved in keeping livestock.
